The only thing that certain in life is uncertainty, the major lesson that I learnt from 2017. Too many things… Too many uncertainties…! A year filled with so many surprises.
A year filled with so many happiness… A year filled with so many heartbreaks… I couldn’t have anticipated so many changes in one year. This post is a recap of all of my trips and adventures of the year. Here I go with my first part of the adventures 2k17
.
I’m a girl who loves trips and adventures. Here goes with the first part of the trip that I have made and the memories related it..!

It’s on February 21st, I came back from my hometown Jaffna and heard the news that my batch is going for an industrial visit to the Software company CodeGen. On the way back to college, we decided to explore somewhere and their final decision was to Bellanwilla. I was a bit embarrassed to admit that it was my first visit to Bellanwilla. We did cycling, birds watching and watched the sunset as well. It’s really was such a beautiful place. I had expected only a path for cycling when my friends said it was a bicycle park, but I didn’t expect it to be so lush and green as far as the eye could see! And finally the day came to an end with some soft drinks and ice creams.
Our Second trip for the years was to Raddoluwa on 08th of May. This trip made me believe that “Plan trips work out too”
. It was again a one day trip to Reza’s place, that was spent in swimming, BBQ lunch and eating mangoes..
. Affii and Reza made the BBQ masala (i don’t know the exact name for that
as i’m bad at cooking). We were around them and took photos and videos and even i’m bad at cooking, i helped affii to wash the chicken that was chopped into turmeric. Then we went for swimming. The pool is little apart from the house. Unforgottable memory on that trip was me and affii pushed Jaanu to swim as she felt bad sitting and watching our mates swimming
.

Once it was over, we went back to Reza’s home to have our lunch. Fawas, Fazlan, kanish and …….. ( oppss, i forgot the rest of them) were cooked BBQ and once it was done, we started to eat. Actually i want to appreciate that it was OUT. OF. THIS. WORLD!!!! And despite eating a lot whilst I was there, I actually think I’d lost a bit of weight towards the end of the day π.

But the part of the place that I loved the most, was the greenish places, flowers and all. I could have stayed there for a lot longer than we did.
Having a bus around 7pm at Ja-Ela, We decided to leave around 5pm. Although that was the end of our trip with these buddies, it wasn’t an end to me wandering around.
Later in September, a sudden plan was taken at college library around 11.30 a.m. Yes it was an unplanned trip to Guruge nature park.

Sri Lanka has an abundance of nature parks teeming with animals, exhibiting ancient stuffs and with some adventures and it’s one of the best place to admire the nature and learn the ancient history of Sri Lanka and also for playing.
We enjoyed watching animals, flowers, the ruins and ancient stuffs. We did boating and there was a cave with the name of dinosaurs era with scary noises which was really really made me to scare at the same time to stare. It was actually like a mini risky adventure to me. But i enjoyed every bit of the trip. I really thankful my buddies Safras, Janani, Fawas, Mizraq and raheem for this adventures trip
.
Again in September, again an unplanned trip to Bentota with my buddies. The day was actually started with going for lunch at Moratuwa KFC and suddenly planned to go for a trip to Bentota beach.

The beach was gorgeous and it was sunny, azure blue water and peachy sunset glory, yet it was still stunning! The fresh air and all I could see was a sea of green surrounded by white coastline. We took a lot of photos and videos, especially slow motion vidoes and played ball that was stolen at moratuwa :p. I wrote my name on the sea shore and took video of it. Then we hike at the top of a rock at the beach and watched a lot of crabs and flying fish there. And the view was worth it. Even if it did feel like I was going to die because my head might explode from the heat and I was in constant fear of the crabs that were running here and there. As we were having a train to around 4.50 pm, we decided to leave around 4.00pm. We reached around 4.40pm at the station and there were some boys sitting and they found our buddies having that ball. They started to ask that ball and behaved differently and started to fight with us. My mates talk nothing and they kept quiet because i’m the only girl there and they also little childish so they felt it’s better to kept quit rather go for a fight and make it a big issue. And our goodness the train came and we set out to Wellawatta again.

The last one was to the Iranamadu. On a rainy day, with my school class mate, a best friend of mine.. Jerromi, went to Iranamadu to collect some details of an orphanage called “Sencholai” as a kind request of my friend in Colombo. But our main focus was a trip on a rainy day..!
And it was a successful one. There’s nothing much there to see but as we are photogenic girls so we took so many casual shots and nature clicks. Once we collected the information, had our lunch at Kilinochi and the day ended up with long walks and ice creams π.
In between i had so many photo shoots, mini trips around Jaffna, weddings and especially our convocation. There are a lot more to be covered from 2k17, but this post is a part of the whole reflection on the year. The traveled locations might be a few and within a particular circle, but the memories i had from those trips are priceless.
Overall I loved and enjoyed every bit of 2k17 and I can’t wait to visit a quite lot more and more in 2k18.
